Greensboro News & Record - December 1, 2001

WINSTON-SALEM - Casey Kesseiring had a goal and two assists as the Greensboro Generals got their first "home" victory of the season, a 5-3 decision over the Columbus Cottonmouths at the Joel Coliseum Annex.

The game, which drew 1,504 fans, was the second of 10 to be played in Winston-Salem this season.

Kesseiring's goal was his first of the year. He also assisted on the game-winner, by Viad Serov in the third period.

The Generals' new goalkeeper, Frederic Henry, stopped 25 shots to get the victory in his first start. Another newcomer, Andrei Lupandin, scored a goal in his first game with Greensboro.

Chris Bell also had a goal and an assist, and Sal Manganaro had two assists.

The Generals will return to Winston-Salem for a game tonight against the Richmond Renegades. Game time is 7:30, and a concert by country artist Marty Stuart will follow the game.
