COLUMBIA, S.C. - Glad Serov scored the lone shootout goal to lift the Greensboro Generals to a 3-2 victory over the Columbia Inferno on Friday.

After a Brian Loney goal, Columbia tied the game 1-1 at 12:43 in the first period on a goal from Rene Zyeareny, assisted by Ryan Petz and Kevin Macide.

The score remained tied until nine minutes into the third period. The Inferno took a 2-1 lead off a power-play goal by Joel Trottier. The Generals tied the game again with 6:27 left in regulation on Rob Sandrock's goal.
