IT'S FOR SANDY!
20 October, 2001 The Generals' pre-game ceremonies on Saturday included a check presentation to Phil Bradshaw for $3,200.00 for the trust fund for Alexandria and Nathan Bradshaw. Alexandria and Nathan are the young children of Phil and Sandy Bradshaw, a Greensboro resident who was a flight attendant on United Airlines flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania on September 11. In an unannounced presentation, Generals vice-president of sales and marketing Rick Francis and his fiance Susie Rose, also a flight attendant, matched the check with one of their own. To top off the event, Phil and Nathan dropped the first puck. In addition, the Generals raised over $7,500.oo from the silent auction for the special commemorative American flag jerseys worn by the players. The highest bid was for $2,000.00 for Brian Loney's jersey. The Carolina Hurricanes also donated $1,100.00 to the trust fund. The total amount raised for Alexandria and Nathan's trust fund by the Generals was $15,000.00. |
