GENERALS TRAINING CAMP SCHEDULE RELEASED
Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro Generals of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) have announced the date and times for practices and games for their 2001 training camp. The first official day of camp will be on Sunday, September 30 at 10:00 an at the Ice Chalet, located at 6119 Landmark Center Blvd. in Greensboro. The Generals are embarking on their third season in the ECHL. The Generals will begin their camp with unofficial practices at the Ice Chalet on September 28 and 29. They will hold two practice sessions a day on October 1—3, with practice times starting at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Starting October 7, the Generals will have one practice session per day at various times leading up to opening night. All fans and media are encouraged to attend all practices at no cost. The Generals have a total of five exhibition games. Two of them will be in Greensboro at the Ice Chalet, on Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 against the Roanoke Express, and Monday, October 8 at 7:00 versus the Charlotte Checkers. Admission for home exhibition games is $5.00, with all proceeds going to a memorial trust fund for Alexandria and Nathan Bradshaw. They are the children of Sandy Bradshaw, a Greensboro resident who was a flight attendant on United Airlines flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania on September 11. The Generals will also play three games at the Cricket Arena in Charlotte on the same day, Saturday, October 6. Greensboro will join the Greenville Grrrowl, Columbia Inferno, and the Checkers in a four-on-four round robin exhibition tournament. Greensboro is scheduled to play at 12:00 against Charlotte, 4:00 versus Greenville, and 6:00 against Columbia. Admission for the tournament is free. Greensboro's season opener is slated for Friday, October 12 at 7:30 at the Augusta Lynx. The home opener for the Generals is set for Saturday, October 20 at 7:00 against the Reading Royals at the Greensboro Coliseum. The Generals also will be playing ten home games at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum Annex in Winston-Salem, with the first home game there scheduled for Friday, November 3 at 7:30 against the Charlotte Checkers. The Generals are still selling season ticket and corporate partnership packages for the 200 1-2002 season. A full season ticket for all 36 home games can run as low as $255.00, with the Generals still running an incredible buy one season ticket, get one free promotion through the end of the month. Individual packages are also available for all games at the Greensboro Coliseum (26 games) and at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum Annex in Winston-Salem (ten games).
