New Signing: Brian Loney, Right Wing
The Generals announce another member to the Generals family today. They have signed RW Brian Loney. Brian has experience in all the levels of professional hockey. Brian went to college at Ohio State where in 1992 he was selected as an all-conference player. He set a CCHA record for points by a freshman and in 12 games with the Vancouver Canucks he registered 2 goals and 3 assists for a total of 5 points. Brian is a proven goal scorer, known to be a highly skilled player with NHL experience. He has been actively involved in the communities where he has played and was chosen as the AHL/CCM man of the year for his community service. "The battle to get Brian was fiercely competitive and we are happy to have a player of Brian's caliber in Greensboro. Brian is a proven goal scorer at every level and his experience in North America and Europe should prove to be quite valuable to this organization. We are expecting Brian to be a fan favorite both on and off the ice." Coach Graeme Townsend on the signing of Brian Loney. "I'm in agreement with Coach Townsend and feel that Brian will be a true leader that will take the team to a new level." Generals President Rocco Scarfone. |
