General Musings
News from The Front Line
by D. K. Williams
Nivovember 13, 2001

The Monday, November 11 coach's show was not aired due to miscommunication between the WWBG board op, Arley Johnson and WWBG program director, David Albright.

Arley connected to the studio via phone line, as is standard procedure. The board op at the station told Arley the show would start after the news was over at 6:05. Arley, for some reason assuming this was accurate information, took off his head phones and took care of some personal business in the back room.

While he was gone, the Front Line intro was played twice.

When Arley returned, he put on the head phones and waited for the intro. It did not come.

Arley called Albright at about 6:08 to investigate. Albright told him the station would not run the Front Line because the intro had been missed and Hugh Hewitt was already running.

After a discussion, Albright refused to stop the Hewitt show to let the Front Line proceed on the radio.

Arley and Graeme did the show for the fans in attendance.

Arley said that the Cheerleaders did not appear Saturday night because "their uniforms did not arrive in time."

The home game against the Reading Turtles, I mean Royals, originally scheduled for November 23 and then moved to December 23 to accomodate Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie, will stay in December, despite Ozzy's broken bones and the cancellation of the November 23 concert.
