INSIDE THE GENERALS

11-and Counting: Following a three-game winning streak that began with a 4-3 victory over the Mississippi Sea Wolves, the Greensboro Generals have won their 11th game of the season. In a parallel to Head Coach/General Manager Rick Adduono's first season with the team in 2002-03, Greensboro has reached this milestone one week earlier. It was not until November 29th of last season that the Generals won their 11th game, whereas the team accomplished the feat this season with the 3-2 overtime victory over the South Carolina Stingrays. Greensboro has two games remaining in the five-game home stand which continues against the Reading Royals (November 26); and Florida Everbiades (November 27~). The lengthy home scheduling marks the first time that Greensboro will play five games at home, the next coming in January, as the Generals will turn their attention to the second half of the schedule.

READING, Pennsylvania - For just the second time all season, the Greensboro Generals lost on the road. A 5-1 loss to the Reading Royals moves the Generals to 8-4-0 on the season, however maintain their position in the standings and remain just three points from the first place Florida Everblades. The Royals (7-3-3) Judd Medak led their offense charge, registering one goal and two assists.

Greensboro's Erik Wendell scored his first goal of the season, when at the 9:00 mark of the first period, he was a recipient of a Kurt Drummond assist, giving Greensboro a 1 -0 lead. Unable to get the offense on track, the Generals were limited to just 25 shots in the game, and eight shots on all seven of its power-play chances.

Medak assisted on a power-play goal by Matt Snesrud that tied the score at 1-1 with 6:52 left in the second period and helped out on a tally by Peter Hay 83 seconds into the third. Medak added a power-play goal of his own late in the third to seal the scoring. Snesrud, Hay and David Masse all had a goal and an assist for Reading, which improved to 2-1-1 at home this season.

Cody Rudkowsky had 24 saves to improve to 4-2-1 on the season. Daniel Berthiaume turned away 37 shots in the loss.



"Coaches Corner": The Greensboro Generals have announced Head Coach/General Manager Rick Adduono will appear on the "Our Town" radio show (WGOS 1070-AM) each Monday afternoon beginning October 13. The half-hour "Coaches Corner" will air each Monday at 1:00 PM throughout the season.
