BAYRACK RECALLED TO NORFOLK

GREENSBORO - After appearing in a Greensboro Generals uniform for the 53 games of the 2003-04 season, left-winger Mike Bayrack will need to get accustom to new gigs—in the form of the American Hockey League’s Norfolk Admirals. The Admirals announced today that Bayrack was being recalled to join the team immediately.

Bayrack (5-11, 185), the Generals leader in goals (31) and second in points (59), is coming off consecutive months that has seen him record 19 goals, 10 assists, for 29 points in the 2004 calendar year. Following a seven-day stint on the injured reserve, Bayrack earned the ECHL Player of the Week Award, when from February 9th to 15th, he registered (5g-4a) for nine points.

As for the Norfolk (28-26-4), the Admirals currently sit in fourth place in the AHL’s East Division of the Eastern Conference. As a team they are 10 points short of divisional leader Philadelphia, however are 8-2 over the last 10 games. The Admirals have six players registering 10 goals or more, and are led by Ajay Baines with 34 points (13 g-21a). Bayrack will certainly add offensive punch to the lineup over the next six games, where the Admirals face-off with Philadelphia, Albany, Hershey, and three meetings against Wilkes-Barre, all between March 3rd and March 13th.
