Generals' right winger Ftorek promoted to AHL's Manchester

Sam Ftorek, the Greensboro Generals' No. 2 scorer and starting right wing, has been recalled to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.

In his second season with the ECHL's Generals, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Ftorek had scored 11 goals while registering. 10 assists and 21 points inl8 games. He had scored four game-winning goals on 79 shots.

He will be joining Manchester, which stands second in the AHL's Atlantic Division behind Hartford with a record of 11-9-1-2 (25 points).

"Sammy certainly is deserving of the chance to play in the AHL," said Generals coach Rick Adduono. "The team certainly wishes him luck, and we still have him in the wings for some future date."

The Generals will take to the road for games at Dayton and Cincinnati next week before returning to the Greensboro Coliseum to play the Gwinnett Gladiators Dec. 11.
