Why the Generals lost: Greensboro managed just 16 shots on goal against one of the better defensive teams in the ECHL The Generals also spent much of the night killing penalties, holding Columbia to 0-for-6 on the power play. Generals' defenseman Likit Anderson was whistled for four minor penalties, all four giving the Inferno a power-play opportunity.
Stars: Greensboro - Jamie Hodson 37 saves. Columbia -Josh Blackburn 16 saves; Tim Smith 2 assists; Terry Harrison 1 goal.
The play: Harrison scored his 15th goal of the season 9:17 into the first period off assists from Smith and Greg Amadio. In all, Columbia outshot Greensboro 19-4 in the first period.
