Why the Generals lost: Saturday night, the two teams combined for 100 shots on goal and 11 goals in an overtime shootout. Sunday's sluggish matinee saw the Generals fall behind 4-0 in the first period, when Greensboro put just seven shots on net.
Stars: Greensboro - Goalie Jamie Hodson, 25 saves and no goals allowed in relief of starter Daniel Berthiaume; defenseman Likit Andersson 1 goal. Pensacola - Goalie Brian Eklund 30 saves; forward Wes Mason 1 goal, 1 assist.
The play: Peter Fregoe scored his second goal of the season off assists from Jade Galbraith and Wes Mason just 28 seconds into the game, kick-starting a four-goal first period for the Ice Pilots against Greensboro starter Daniel Berthiaume. The goalie who made 50 saves Saturday night lasted just 16 minutes of the first period, allowing four goals on 14 shots before being replaced by backup Hodson.
