Why the Generals won: Mark Turner scored a first period goal just inside the circle of a rebound shot by Geno Parrish at 1:28 into the game.
Stars: Greensboro Jamie Hodson had 22 saves. Mark Turner scored the only goal. Kurt Drummond played great defense.
The play: With a minute remaining In the third period the Checkers pulled goalie David St. Germain to give them an extra attacker, and it allowed Doug Christiansen to get a one-on-one shot on goal that Jamie Hodson stopped to force the puck back into the Generals' offensive zone.
